UV sterilizers utilize UVC, which is part of the ultraviolet light spectrum that is filtered out by earth’s atmosphere, to kill germs. UVC light destroys the DNA of germs, eliminating their ability to reproduce. UV light helps to reduce or eliminate the actual growth or development of microbiological organisms such as fungi, bacteria, or viruses.
Shortwave UVC light has been commonly used in the sterilization of medical appliances, food and water since the mid-20th century. No. UV technology has been around for decades. Today's products are totally safe to use and the technology do not pose any risk for both the user and the products being sanitized.
- Is it safe to look directly at the LED?

Looking directly at the LED will not cause any harm to your vision, but it's recommended that you avoid doing so. The same UV light found in Clean Trust can be found in natural sun light.
